The CrossBow chair was made from a single plank of English Elm. This wood was reclaimed from a bridge that was being dismantled to be disposed of.

The back is made from one piece of the plank, split into two and then opened like a book so that the grain on either side is a mirror image of the other.

The cross and the bows are made from Cocobolo as are the two wedges which hold the chair together. Cocobolo is part of the Rosewood family and is highlighted when combined with a paler wood such as Oak or Maple.
